Families and people over 25

Good to know that the Beach Camp is divided into two camps: a Family Camp and 25+ Camp. The names actually say it; especially for families there is the Family Camp, with a wide program for both children and parents. The 25+ Camp, where you can enjoy activities and a relaxing holiday on the coast, is aimed at everyone over 25 (in practice mainly 25-35). These camps are adjacent to each other with separate communal grounds. The wellness and beach bar are accessible to both camps. The beach bar is open until 10pm for drinks & paninis and there are a number of lounges and hammocks nearby to relax.

Family Camp

The Family Camp focuses on families with children up to 16 years old. Because children can also enjoy themselves here for hours with playing in the adventure playground, surfing lessons, beach volleyball and table tennis. Surfing lessons together with the family are already possible with small surfers from 7 years old (if you have a swimming certificate). There is childcare every day for the little ones (up to 5 years old) and for children from 6 to 16 years old there is children’s entertainment, with different activities depending on the age. There is also more than enough to do for older teenagers. For example, parents can catch a few waves together, have a drink at a beach bar like Woodstock’69 or read a book in a relaxed manner.

The site is family-friendly and has many facilities for both adults and children. For example, Camping de Lakens has its own restaurant and large playground with slide and cable car. When you walk over the dunes you come directly to the beach. There are various activities besides surfing, such as kite surfing, paddle boarding and sailing and you will come across many nice beach bars. Surfing materials can be borrowed for free all day long and thanks to the enthusiastic crew members who provide entertainment, parents can regularly go away for a surf session or wellness visit while the kids have fun.

25+ Camp

Beachcamp de Lakens is located in a unique private location at Camping de Lakens, directly behind the dunes with the beach a stone’s throw away. The campsite has many facilities and a large area to discover. For example, the campsite has its own restaurant and you will also find a wellness hotspot (the wellness bus) on the campsite where you can go for a massage or pedicure. The dune path leads directly to a strip with the best beach bars to enjoy the sun for a day.

At the 25+ Camp, the average age is approximately 30 years. It’s the perfect May and June get-away. Close to beach bars such as Woodstock’69, Beachclub Vroeger and the San Blas and of course the beach. During the day you can surf, participate in yoga or enjoy summer tunes, disco records and live music from the terraces at the Camp. In the evening there are performances by singer-songwriters or you can watch the outdoor cinema. You can walk past the surf tent at any time of the day to pick up your surfboard and wetsuit.

Learn to surf

Surfing is the most popular activity at the Beachcamp. The Beachcamp site is located directly behind the dune, so that you can be in the water with your surfboard within a few minutes’ walk. And at one of the most beautiful surf spots in the Netherlands! Surfing experience or taking a first surf lesson is a requirement for safety reasons. If you have no experience, you can learn all the ins and outs in two or four surf lessons and catch the first waves. The surf lessons and other sports activities at the Beachcamp are given by Dutch-speaking surf instructors from the surf schools of Surfana (at Rapa Nui) and Mifune. You can choose your surf package when booking: 2x 2 hours surf lessons for € 75 or 4x 2 hours surf lessons for € 105. With the help of the instructors you will experience the ultimate kick of surfing in no time!

You can borrow a surfboard and wetsuit for free at the surf tent throughout your stay. Surf lessons together with the family are already possible with children from 7 years and at all levels. In addition to surfing, it is possible to book kitesurfing lessons. Bloemendaal aan Zee is known as a good spot for kite surfing. You can also borrow free longboards from the beach bar to explore the beautiful surroundings.
