Hong Kong is open to tourists who have been in Mainland China, Taiwan or Macau for 14 days or more. Tourism from other countries remains banned.
Travelers must also provide confirmation in English or Chinese of a room reservation at a government-designated quarantine hotel for a minimum of 21 nights from the day of arrival. They must also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test, obtained 72 hours before departure.
After detecting highly contagious variants of the coronavirus in Brazil, South Africa and the United Kingdom, travelers from those territories or who have been there for more than two hours in the 21 days prior to the trip to Hong Kong will be denied boarding.
Since last December, visitors can no longer quarantine at home.

April 10 – New restrictions on social distance until the end of next week
The latest restrictions on COVID-19 have been extended at least until the end of next week. As of today, bars, ballrooms, karaoke, nightclubs and other tourist sites will remain closed until the spread of the virus is under control again.
Movie theaters, theme parks and concert venues can open to visitors at 75% capacity, and churches, monasteries, mosques, synagogues and temples at 30%.
On the other hand, the Hong Kong bar industry has just revealed that it would agree to use straws so that people do not have to remove their masks, in exchange for allowing them to reopen after 5 months of closure. The proposal came from the Hong Kong Department of Food and Environmental Hygiene. Therefore, it is highly possible that the bars will be reopened again using this new creative strategy.
March 26th
Hong Kong has suspended the use of the BioNTech vaccine and appears to be preferring Sinovac. Given the atmosphere of political unrest and anti-China sentiment among sectors of the population, some are choosing not to be vaccinated with the vaccine made in China. (Source)

March 3
Hong Kong started vaccinating on February 21. The latest data on February 28 shows that 20,000 people received the vaccine.
February 4th
On January 30, the Hong Kong government closed several transportation routes and border checkpoints that connected Hong Kong to mainland China. The reopening date has not yet been announced.
Hong Kong-Singapore travel bubble
According to the secretary of Trade and Economic Development Edward Yau revisits, a Hong Kong-Singapore travel bubble it is unlikely for the time being, as cities are battling the 4th wave of COVID-19.
What restrictions would apply to countries within the travel “bubble”?
The Hong Kong government is negotiating “travel bubbles” with China, which will allow them to resume tourism in various regions of the continent.
The Hong Kong Tourism Council is asking the government to negotiate the reopening of Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Bay Area, Macau and nine other cities in Guangdong.
To encourage tourism, the Council is willing to give 500,000 tickets for free, along with other interesting discounts, once the restrictions are eased.
Entry restrictions and requirements
In order to be eligible to travel through these “travel bubbles”, head of commerce Edward Yau Tang-wah considers that it will be necessary to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to takeoff and on arrival.
However, he stressed that the situation is and will continue to change because each destination may have different restrictions, that is, this will not be the only requirement.
Who is currently allowed to enter Hong Kong?
- Visitors residing in Hong Kong, travelers who have not been outside of China, Taiwan and Macau in the past 14 days are allowed to enter Hong Kong.
- American citizens are allowed if they meet the requirements below.
- No resident of Hong Kong who arrives in the territory of any place other than China, Macau and Taiwan will be denied entry.

Situation of COVID-19 in Hong Kong
From 11th of April, the region reported a total of 11,563 confirmed positive cases and 207 deaths. On the other hand, the the continent reported 103,066 confirmed cases and 4,853 deaths.
Social activities allowed in Hong Kong during COVID-19
These are the social activities allowed in the territory.
- Visitors can visit restaurants until 18:00.
- Movie theaters, beauty salons, fitness centers and sports facilities have reopened.
Nightclubs, karaoke venues and swimming pools will remain closed for now.
Requirements for carrying out social activities
Face masks are mandatory at public transport operators, in an MTR paid area and in indoor and outdoor public places.

- Violating the quarantine requirement is considered a crime. Violators may face imprisonment and a fine.
- Failure to wear a mask where people should wear it will subject them to a HKD 5,000 fine.
