Cayman Islands lift remaining Covid-related travel restrictions effective August 24

The Caribbean nation is lifting all remaining restrictions related to COVID, effective Wednesday, August 24, according to a report. Department of Tourism declaration.

All international visitors, regardless of their vaccination status, will now be able to enter the Cayman Islands without submitting any additional health-related documentation and without the need to apply for a travel permit certificate via the Travel Cayman portal.

The removal of mandatory mask-wearing regulations on the island is also part of recently announced policy reviews.

Until Thursday, only passengers who have received all required vaccines can enter the Cayman Islands without quarantine or testing. Currently, only children under the age of 12 who are unvaccinated foreign visitors can enter without quarantine.

Arrivals over the age of 12 and unvaccinated must still undergo a seven-day quarantine.

In addition, by the same date, anyone visiting the islands as part of a cruise itinerary must have completed their vaccination course at least 14 days prior to boarding the ship, and unvaccinated children under 12 years of age may only disembark if they are accompanied by an adult who has received all the necessary vaccinations.

There are no longer any regulations on inter-island travel and no pre-arrival testing requirements for visitors from outside the Cayman Islands.
